Welcome to the 2023-2024 Carmel Icehounds Hockey Season

Welcome back to hockey!  This year, Carmel will once again field 2 teams.  Our Gold team will compete at the varsity level.  Blue will enter its second year of competition in the Indiana Prep League.  We will continue competition in the Hoosier League while also scheduling crossover games as required in our efforts to drive both teams to a state championship within their divisions.

Tyler “Taz” Douthit will enter his second year as the head coach for our Gold team. This is Taz’s 11th season with the organization and 5th season as a head coach.

Our Blue team welcomes Nick Robbearts as head coach. Nick previously coached teams with the South Stars organization and after a year off, he is excited to join Carmel Hockey Club.

The club and its board continue to make efforts to grow high school hockey in Indiana, and to make Carmel the premier team to play for.  Much time and investment are being planned for the long term to showcase Carmel hockey’s past successes, embracing our present, and making significant plans for the future of the organization. New state of the art monitors have been placed in both rink lobbies.  This will allow us to share our game schedules with fans, as well as game highlights, player features, and advertising opportunities for our sponsors. We are also planning a new trophy case to show off our past success while leaving room for future championship hardware. As previously announced, an endowment is being created for the benefit of our club that will further enhance the desire to play for Carmel.

We continue to drive a “one team” mentality between Gold and Blue. We encourage all players and families to support not only the team your player is on, but the other team as well through game attendance when possible.

Carmel Icehounds have a rich history of achievement on and off the ice, and we are certain this will continue well into the future. Our players excel in hockey, academics and many other broad and varied interests that will take them far.

Thank you to all of our sponsors. Your support is much appreciated and we encourage our organization to support our sponsors as well. We are part of a great community and are grateful for all it affords our club.

Additionally, I would like to thank all involved in making our organization successful. This includes coaches, team managers, players, parents, our volunteer Board of Directors, and the numerous other volunteers who do everything from running the clock to planning events. Without each and every one of you, we couldn’t have the successes that we do.

Go Hounds!

President, Carmel Icehounds Hockey Board
