Welcome to the 2022-2023 Carmel Icehounds Hockey Season

We are again very happy to roster 2 teams as part of the Carmel Icehounds Hockey Club. This year brings a change to our Blue team. They will compete in the Indiana Prep League, which was a new addition to the ISHSHA (Indiana State High School Hockey Association) last season, and has grown this year through the addition of multiple teams throughout the state. As in the past, we will continue to participate in the Hoosier League while also scheduling crossover games as required in our efforts to drive both teams to a state championship within their divisions.

Our Gold team has new but familiar leadership on the bench. Tyler “Taz” Douthit has been promoted from the head coach for our Blue team to the head coach for Gold. This is Taz’s 10th season with the organization and 4th season as a head coach.

Our Blue team welcomes Adam Giroux as head coach. Adam grew up and played hockey in Upstate New York. He has been in central Indiana since 2011. He has been playing hockey and coaching youth hockey and is excited to make the jump to high school hockey this season.

We continue to drive a “one team” mentality between Gold and Blue. We encourage all players and families to support not only the team your player is on, but the other team as well through game attendance when possible.

Carmel Icehounds have a rich history of achievement on and off the ice, and we are certain this will continue well into the future. Our players excel in hockey, academics and many other broad and varied interests that will take them far.

Thank you to all of our sponsors. Your support is much appreciated and we encourage our organization to support our sponsors as well. We are part of a great community and are grateful for all it affords our club.

Additionally, I would like to thank all involved in making our organization successful. This includes coaches, team managers, players, parents, our volunteer Board of Directors, and the numerous other volunteers who do everything from running the clock to planning events. Without each and every one of you, we couldn’t have the successes that we do.

GO HOUNDS!
