Thanks players & families for your continued commitment to the Icehounds Program

If players have any questions feel free to email the coaches at:
Dan Desmond ddes131@yahoo.com
Andrew Norris norris.andrew29@gmail.com

The Icehounds program would like to invite all returning and incoming players to the following skate-arounds. These sessions are open to both Gold and Blue level players and are intended to provide all players the opportunity to meet the coaching staff(s) of both teams and stay on the ice before tryouts, which will be held June 1,2,3 and 5 at Carmel. Players are asked to bring a light and dark jersey. The format will be a combination of drilling and scrimmage, at both sessions. Cost per player is $20 per session, which will be collected before each session by an Icehounds representative. In addition, at the first session only, Team Indiana Head Coach, Jack Manard will be present as well, both on and off the ice, to answer any questions parents or players may have about the U16 or U18 TI program.

Please confirm your intent to participate, and/or direct any questions via email to Coach Desmond at ddes131@yahoo.com

Icehounds Try-Out Policy

All high school aged (grades 9,10,11,12) hockey players entering or attending Carmel High School, that desire to tryout for the Icehounds program, are required to adhere to the following policy / process.

  1. Tryouts will be conducted over the course of 4 on-ice evaluation sessions. Dates and times are viewable on our website
  2. ALL players are required to sign-in, register and pay the tryout fee, prior to Session #1 of the tryouts.
  3. Team assignment / roster postings will flow as follows.
  • Session #1 – ALL players report, register and participate. Shortly after completion of this session, invitations for Session #2 will be posted. Players not invited to Session #2, are required to return for Session #4 (BLUE team tryouts).
  • Session #2 – attendance by posted invite. Shortly after completion of this session, invitations for Session #3 will be posted. Players not invited to Session #3, are required to return for Session #4 (BLUE team tryouts).
  • Session #3 – attendance by posted invite. Shortly after completion of this session, selections for the GOLD team roster will be posted. Players not selected for the GOLD team, are required to return for Session #4 (BLUE team tryouts).
  • Session #4 – attendance required for all players not selected to the GOLD team. Shortly after completion of this session, the BLUE team roster will be posted. Players not selected for the BLUE team will be added to the Hoosier League player pool – see following note.
  • All Hoosier League teams are required to forward the names of those players not selected for their programs to the league. From this pool of players, the league attempts to place players into other programs to the benefit of the player and the program in need.  This placement is for a 1-year term, pool players are returned to their High School teams for tryout the next season.

4. TRYOUT ATTENDANCE: It is expected that all players attend the tryouts as outlined above. Approval to miss a single session may be granted under extenuating circumstances. Approval must be obtained in writing (email) from the GOLD team Head Coach and the CIH Coach Liaison in advance of the anticipated conflict. It is the sole responsibility of the player follow-up, confirm and obtain such requests in advance. Contact information can be found on the “Organization” tab of the website
